Reva, Laura and I went to the Fallbrook Coffee Shop to drink (iced tea) and draw - after dancing (zumba). This would be the DDD. Using Laura as an unsuspecting model, I drew her on toned paper with pastel pencils. Before playing with the drawing at home, it actually resembled Laura. Somehow in reworking the mouth and opening her eyes, I lost Laura. However, I did capture her skinny figure! This was from our first fall session. The object was to have a wide range of values and to lay blocks of paint in with a brush. Particular attention was paid to the dampness of the paper. We wanted the colors to merge on the edges, while at the same time retaining separate blocks of paint. Tricky.
